hello i,m new to this group. i own a 300ce which wont run! it over fuels all the time ive changed the k jetronic fuel distributor and pressure regulator but it still over fuels if i take the plugs out and crank the engine it throws loads of fuel out of plug holes . any help would be appreciated. being a lover of mercs ive just bought a 300d also a 1990 which ive just rewired due to electrical fire. when i took it out on a test drive it drove very well! until when setting of from a junction it made a bang noise not loud! then nothing no drive or reverse? speedo still works and prop spins but nothing from diff! is this a commen fault which can be repaired or a big job? many thanx for any help.

have checked and both drive shafts intact!

Does the propshaft spin at the diff end? I think these are a two part prop and the flexplate in the middle could have gone.

Last time I had this it was the planetary gears in the differential which had exploded. This was in a Mk 1 Cortina though (with a 3.0 V6)
