Had a good response to previous questions so heres another! I think my 1991 300CE has seat belt tensioners? The handbook suggests that an arm moves the seat belts out prior to fastening them. Certainly looks that way but they dont work.

Any ideas?

I call them seat belt nazi's :)

Check under your seat and you should find a couple of small wires - often disconected by aggressive hoovering. If they are disconected the circuit is broken and the seat belt 'presenters' wont operate.

Other things to look for is fuse box, make sure all fuses are ok, door switch... does interior light go on and off properly when opening doors (same circuit). There is also a relay which operates the arms so if everything else checks out suspect that.

If the above dont do the job, post back as I seem to remember having a fault finding flow chart somewhere for this which i could have a hunt for if needs be.

OK checked out the "Seat Belt" Nazi's (great term!) wiring looks good and the door lights all seem functional, so maybe its a relay. I presume the relay is with the rest in the fuse box area?

If so any idea which one it is?

Thanks spike
