300E engine misfire

Hi , I have a 1989 300E auto, the problems i have are these :if i start my car from cold and leave it ticking over until it gets up to temp all is fine,until i select reverse, then a light comes on the dash , if i then put it in Drive, light goes out but comes on after a short while, if i put it back into Park light goes out. If i start from cold and drive straight away all is fine, till it comes up to temp, then light comes on and the engine starts to hesitate on acceleration,and power is reduced , light stays on,no matter what gear it is in. I have changed the coil and dizzy cap as i was told ,these might be the cause,but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

miss fire

just had same problem we had a broken plug end. changed plugs got bit out of lead,every thing is going really well now
