300E Sunroof Problem

The sunroof on my 1986 300 E will not close properly. It has been "going down hill" for sometime now and I have ignored its warnings. Getting it fixed by my Mercedes mechanic will cost me about $400. I would like to fix it myself. Can anyone give me some suggestions of how to go about ordering parts and actually fixing this problem on my own.

not getting it fixed by a Mercedes mechanic or at the very least a sunroof specialist will probably end up costing you a lot more than $400 when you go back to him with a bag full of miscellaneous sunroof bits that you can't work out how to put back together


I'd bite the bullet and give the specialist the money.
