300SL help

Hi


I own a F reg 300SL Auto.
I have had her for 1 year now.
Few months ago she had trouble starting.
I charged up the battery every night thinking it was the battery.
It took 3 turns of the key to start her and then she would go.

Had this for a month and then she did'nt start
That night i had to jump start her and the engine was banging like a tank.
Weekend came and i charged battery again and on Monday she still banging like a tank.
I left her in the garage and took the Focus.

Checked battery and its ok.
What could it be?? (Water pump?)

Hello Dave, our cars are critical to having 12 volts, down to 11v and problems start. you should check the over voltage relay pin 30 in has 12v pin 87 out should be 12v if it is down to 7.5 the engine will run but very rough, the age of your car is such that they crumble away and get bad dry joints, do the voltage test. these problems start from jump stating
