300sl

My 1992 mercedes 300sl is missing when the engine is cold, when I rev the engine there is nothing there. As soon as it warms up, it runs fine.

Anybody got any ideas?

Check the condition of the distributor cab, and inspect for moisture is the first place i would start.

I have recently had a new distributor cap fitted. The same problem occurred last year more so when it was wet so I had new leads and plugs fitted. It was fine after that but has started to play up again.

This car really does have a mind of its own but I can't bring myself to sell it as it looks great.

Have you taken the cap off and looked inside, a spray with PTFE helps

if it's not a every day car they do tend to have a prob with damp in the distributor i would also check the cold start system as it might well not be working & this would give the uneven running when cold. the most common fault is the thermal switch or the cold start regulator ...this might help http://www.scribd.com/doc/3299223/Bosch-KJetronic-Fuel-Injection-Manual-
