My brother in law has a problem with his W124 300-24 valve estate car. The engine cuts out suddenly without warning but restarts again when tried, he is sure the problem is the fuel pump relay as the pump(s) can be heard to run on re-switching the ignition, but after searching the car in the obvious locations (even stripping seats and carpets) he cannot find the relay. Can anyone advise as he is towing a caravan soon and wants to solve the problem before then. Thanks.

If it is same as 190E??? Fuel pump and OVP relays are in behind the battery and are to the left of bat behind plastic flap in by firewall.
