Help needed for new owner.Just bought my first merc, unfortunately though i have not got a handbook and cannot work out how to remove the dog guard/luggage cover.I presume the seat catches are behind it.Any help would be much appreciated.

Open the rear doors, lift the rear seat squabs, fold the backrest down and the cargo net cassette slides off, IIRC, via the passenger rear door opening

Yes - but it's released by opening the back doors. See the black button in the door opening

Sometimes they can be a PITA to fold. If you sit in the back and kick them they can sometimes be "persuaded" to fold. Or try lifting them while pulling - that can work

Once they're down seek out the problem & fix it
