The self-levelling suspension on my 1990 300TE has not worked since a burst pipe was replaced. I've put on new shocks and replaced the pump (the old one was found to be working on the steering side but not the suspension) and the car is rising a bit, but not as much as I would expect. Local dealer is not very helpful (or is that knowledgeable?) and says he can't look at the car for 4-5 weeks! Any suggestions?

Wouldn't give dealers time of day- they will rob you blind and couldn't give a toss. Go to a good independent garage as there is no real need to have specialist knowledge to fix this. You (or someone) needs to get under the car to have a look at the actuating mechanism and the valve near the torsion bar at the rear. They could well be seized and may just need freeing off or even simply adjusted. Failing all of this I believe Eurocarparts do a kit to repalce anything that is beyond repair[/url]
