my 312d has just started to smoke badly. I let the oil level drop a bit low but had no warning light, about 30 miles after I topped it up it with 15/40 it turned into a mobile fog screen! Its not quite so bad today, but I still get a cloud of blue smoke when I pull away. It seems worse when the engine is cold. There is no unusual noises from the engine and no loss of performance.
does it sound like it might be the head gasket? Its done 160K. this is a 4x4 Sprinter and I don't want to loose it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers
