320 CLK total loss of power

My 320 CLK has literally just stopped. All power engine power has gone and power steering has stopped. Lights etc still work. Car will turn over but nothing else. Very scary when driving to lose control!! Any ideas what may have caused this? Thanks.

did you run out of fuel? joking (or did you??) aside it could be many many things, including the crank sensor and fuel pump. any chance of giving a little more detail and history?
