Could someone please tell me how the dor trims are removed? They don't appear to want to just pull off and I'm reluctant to apply too much force to see if this is how you do it, in case this isn't how you do it and I damage them. Please help asap. Thanks.

hi hemel, dont know if its the same principal or not but mine are pop studded along the bottom, with a couple of screws to remove first, just under the handle if i remember correctly, then most importantly you have to lift the entire panel off vertically! they are mounted on plastic 'hooks' if pulled these hooks can snap and the door panel will never go back as it was.they are a pain to get back on as they are! trying to seat all the hooks back in place and contending with the unlock pin and door handle can get the swearbox full i can tell ya!!

One on pull arm, top near mirror, and trim near lock.

As Marshie says they are hooks, and the top part hooks on also.
Secret......... Go gently.

are you talking about the internal trims or the plastic external ones?

Strangley, I am just about to take one of my doors apart to investigate a bad patch up job on one door.

I've e-mailed you the document on this. Basically the panel has to be lifted upwards about an inch, then it should just fall off.

It's the same routine with all W124 doors except the CE has a strike plate at the top of the door that has to be removed.

Thanks to Everyone

Problem is solved. Thanks to everyone for your advice. I was on the brink of giving it the dealership to fix. So you've saved me a fortune! Thanks again.

Turnip, did you get your outer door panels off OK? If not I think the secret with these after removing the small screw on the inner edge of the door, is to 'slide' them out. New set of plastic 'clips' is around £17.
Cheers.
