Have you tried RS?
There is a company called "Tyco" who we use to use to get really obscure electrical plugs and sockets we require for weapons and radar fits on RN ships try googling them but I think it could expensive.

You will not find one,, it would be easier to by one ready wired and alter it to suit you

Been down this road myself, USA seem to have some but they are expensive, why do you need one anyway.

Thanks Malcolm,

I was kinda getting that feeling -- I'll just use the one I have, and connect it with my homebrew multiplexer ;)

Well, I was thinking if I had a right angle connector it would sit nicely inside the box with the bonnet shut, then run the lead up the screen in the sunroof and hey presto, sit in comfort with the laptop ready to go -- just being a bit of a tart I suppose !

I am also in the process of build a manual multiplexer, ie take the single k-line input lead that I have into a 25 way switch, and then manually select which module to talk to from the switch and wire all 25 to the 38 pin connector, saves building a breakout box !

Cheers

Sounds like a plan, the equipment doesnt give live data whilst driving as such, its gives live data with the engine running so I cant really see the benifits. If you want to keep things flat so you can drive the car then remove the casing to the 38 plug and solder the yellow wire to the pin that gives live data.
