3rd brakelight wont work

hi all i need help my vito w639 is due for mot tomorrow morn and the 3rd brakelight stopped working a few days ago i have got a new one and replaced it and nothing its still dead all other lights are working just not that one.
anyone help or advice would be great

Is there perhaps a break in the loom to the tail gate? That's where I'd start looking.
