I am new here and have just bought a 1976 450SLC with 88K miles.
It have a three of small problems that I need to rectify and would appreciate anyones help.
1. When you turn the steering onto hard lock there is a single loudish knock when the car moves forward at slow speed.
2. There is a vibration sound under the passenger foot well that is related to the revs at low speed. Could this be what looks like an exhaust heat shield vibrating on the exhaust?
3. I am not sure if this a problem as the car is old, but at high speed 80mph+ the car steering and suspension does not feel very positive and gives the impresion it could wander. I know the car will go alot faster but I feel that I would have to have nearves of steel to try!
Any suggestions?
I have not have yet managed to get myself a set of ramps to get under the car. Although I have had a brief inspection after jacking the car up.
