I recently bought an example of the above model, cheap !! Now I know why.
Water leaks into the vehicle from behind the dashborad down between the bulkhead and the sound proofing into both foot wells. I have removed the whole of the dashboard assembly and fitted a new heater matrix and replaced everything. But still the water trickles down, allbeit, more slowly. I checked the alluminium feed/supply pipes, they , appear to be in good conditionbut didn't pressure test them. The rubber pipes from/to the cooling system which clamp to the alluminium pipes are in good order, there is no water "squirting" from the joints, so it cannot be "following" the alluminium pipes into the pod.
In desparation I introduced an expensive cooling sealant, but this hasn't worked either.
The water only runs when the engine is on, water level in the header tank goes down, water does not enter the car when it rains.
Where did I go wrong, I know, don't buy a 500 SEC again !
