500 sl gearbox

Does a 4 speed auto on a 1991 500sl have either a vacuum pipe or mechanical cable fitted.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

as far as I know

it ought to have both, in order to sense what's going on engine-wise. High vacuum will delay gearshifts, and high revs will prevent downshifts out of range.
I'm sure some of the other auto-box-savvy members here will know what's what.

Myros is correct in that it has both, the cable is for kick down.
