Greetings, im new to this forum, but thought I would share a woe - and hopefully save some other sod the pain of repeating my mistake!
I decided my 84 500SE could do with some reversing sensors, having successfully fitted a set to my 86 range rover.
After agonizing on where to fit them, I decided they would work if fitted into the bumpers.
So after a few hours of drilling, routing, and general faffing, I was ready to test them out.
I put the car into reverse and heard the BEEP BEEP. I would have been pleased if I had been anywhere near an obstacle, but I was 2 metres or so from the garage door!
So my advise is, fit them into the metalwork and not the bumper! The must be just too low.
If anyone has a suitable grey bumper they can donate (or cheap!) to suit an anthracite body, please let me know!
Regards,
Andrew
