My MOT's due fairly soon on the beloved SL and I have a bit of a concern over the slight noise in the Cat on one of the down pipes (sounds like it could be blowing). I.e is it going to fail the MOT and land me with a big bill?!
Anyway the question is this...my car was registered on the 1st Jan 1992 and is fitted with cats. I read somewhere that the requirement for cats is for vehicles registered after June/July 1992. Does this mean that I can replace the system with a non cat one, providing I can get the ECU sorted?
Any advice will, as usual, be greatly received.
