51 Plate s500L Problems

Hi there , Iv bought a lovely s500L 2001 .

Its great but just got 2 little issues:

1) The AC OFF light wont Turn OFF
2) The command system says TEL ERROR - NO PHONE CONNECTED
but I have phone in arm rest and it works on its own but DOES NOT work with the command system...
Any ideas where it plugs in or what I can check...

The aircon sounds like it has a stored fault, needs clearing with star, the phone fault is Malcs department!!

The air con could be off as it is low on gas, maybe a sensor, but check the gas first.

You car will be made for a nokia 6210 or 6310i the coding version of the phone must be 5.5 or higher

I had that problem when I fitted the phone system into my car Matt. Tell Error was showing on my display because I was using a 6310 phone in the cradle and the phone module was a 6210 one. I bought a 6210 of fleabay and it worked....then I bought the Visseo unit so my Iphone works now!

Still got the 6210 if you want to try it out

Phone problem

Hi Guys

the Phones in the front and back of the car are both Mercedes branded nokia hardwired phones (Not the cradles as found on some other cars)

I have tried the sim card in the phone and it allows me to make calls using the handset receiver But It does NOT work with the command system..

The command unit just displays "TEL ERROR" "PHONE NOT CONNECTED"
when i press the TEL button on the command unit..

Any ideas what could be wrong ??

There is some info here if you find your 2.5 unit, its possible the a module has gone down, have a look in the service menu
