Hi there,
Recently bought a '93 600sl.
Everything works fine till today where suddenly one of the dashboard lights gives a warning every time i start the car.
Its the far right control light showing a person with probably a seat belt...
As soon as i start the car the  warning light turns on and i get to hear a beeping sound for about 10 secs.
This causes everything automatic in my car to stop working. (roof, seats config, etc.)
Since i dont own the owners manual i dont have a clue what this is/means.

Hoping somebody here can help me out.
Thanks alot,

Franck

The seat-belt light is just a warning to belt-up before driving off. It's supposed to come on for a few seconds everytime you turn the ignition. (There is no belt sensor associated with this light and so it just comes on regardless).

I think that the beeping is not related to this and could be something to do with the handbrake system (beeps if you attemp to drive with the brake on) or the roof mechanism not latching.

There is also a similar warning if the seat-back is not properly latched, after tilting it forwards. You may want to check that the seat back has properly clicked into placed. Its microswitch sensor may also be stuck so try tilting the seatback back and forth a few times. If not ,check the microswitch.

However, if ALL electrics, not just the seat, loose power, then I suspect you might have a problem in the vehicle's Central Body Electronics.
