639 Steering Problems

Hi i have a problem with the steering on my 639 when i turn the steering wheel moving or standing still the steering feels notchy as it turns has anyone ever come across this before and did you find an answer the car is going into the garage next week to have the lower arms replaced Thanks

Simple 1st,
have you checked the steering fluid level?
Has anything come loose and is obstructing the steering column?
Are your arch liners loose, and catching the wheel/s?
