Hello! I couldn't find anyone talking about the same problem I have with my 722.6 automatic gearbox or then I was blind enough to miss it. Anyway the problem is that when the transmission changes from 2nd gear to 3rd gear it flares. So it kinda let's the engine rev from 2k rpm to 3.5k ish rpm while it's changing the gear. And when changing back to 2nd it makes a harsh "jump" or a "nod." Other gear changes are smooth as baby's bottom, but it gets annoying while driving in the city.

I thought to change the 13 pin o-ring connector to the gearbox, but after a small research I found out that I should change the 2-3 gear overlap control sleeve in the valve body..... It costs only few euros if even that much. Now my only concern is, am I right? And if I'm right, can I do it on my own? I have a garage and tools for doing it, but I'd like to not mess anything up and be forced to buy new gearbox which I could get for 130 euros and could change it with help of a friend.

The fixes you mention are usually after a conductor plate change, which the symptoms you describe sound like is needed...oh welcome by the way

I’m a sure a diagnostic check at a Mercedes independent will be able to interrogate the gearbox and confirm the fault ?

That's a good point..... Conductor plate costs aproximately 140e for me, so I'd prefer to not to change it because a working second hand gearbox (aprox 300k km mileage) costs 140e and mine gearbox has seen 620k km, so I'd get relatively new gearbox instead.... I'm happy if the car lasts one year, after that I'm planning to advance into w211 and thanks, wanted always to join a merc club

I did get the old lady into diagnostic, but they got no error codes what so ever. Only thing what he told to do was to clean the box which locates under the hood on top left corner. He told that it's possible that there is some oil even if it sounds crazy
