74 280C needs a right door mirror

This model did not come with a passenger side door mirror but some how I need to get a mirror that will work. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm prepared to do the surgery!
Looking at pictures it appears the the 72 & 73 had a RH mirror.

it was an option. look on ebay.de for a mirror - they had the otehr side to us as std...

In 74ish (75?) was the 'facelift' with ribbed rear lights and the w123 type mirror (solid thing) as opposed to the pre facelift which is a mirror on a stick type...
