Hi guys, My gearbox keeps going into limp mode due to a faulty speed sensor that I believe is located within the conductor plate and is therefore un-serviceable. My question is this, can a secondhand un-programmed conductor plate be fitted and programmed to my car. I have been told by a Mercedes technician that this cannot be done, but there are lots of them for sale on e-bay un-programmed.

No, the unit must be vriginised first, but non. Is part of official process and requires third party (expensive!) tools.

The sellers are the ones vriginising used units.
