I have a 93 190e 2.3 that has the engine light on. The car was running fine. I had driven the car that morning, and about 2 hours later I went out and when I started the car the Check Engine light came on and wouldn't go off.
I replaced the battery about 4 months prior to that. I also replaced the alternantor about 2 months prior to that.
When I took it to my mechanic he could not get a reading from the diag unit.
I called Mercedes to see what they would charge me to put it on their diag machine, but the cost was $300 for 2 hour minimum. They also said they felt that the Engine controll unit may be going out which may be causing no read out from the diag unit.
My dad and I have attempted to check the diag unit our selves. There is no reading. We've checked the voltage, etc.
Anyone ideas or suggestions is apperciated.
