93 TE (124) Accelerator pedal

Can any one help please ?
My wife cannot reach the accelerator pedal easily and is pressing the pedal at the base (the fulcrum/hinge) which means uncomfortable, non-sensitive and heavy effort required
I am looking to replace the present floor hinged accelerator pedal with a standard (I think they are called "pendant") type
Is there any Mercedes model that offers this type of pedal that I could source from a breakers yard ( I assume a Mercedes model pedal would be easier to adapt than from a general model car )
Any help would be appreciated

The floor hinged pedal actuates a more common pendant/pivoted arrangement, so it shouldn't be too difficult to do away with the bottom hinged part altogether. As long as the stop and kickdown switch are operated by the pivot all you'd really need is to extend the bottom pivot arm down/forwards and make a pad. Should be easy enough to get a spare pivot arm from a breakers.

For diagram see here.

Alternative someone may point out that Merc have already done this themselves at some point.

Blimey M8 is your missus very short and I don't mean that in a bad way Mine 5 foot

Why not try a block of wood fixed (bolted or screwed) to the accelerator pedal at the top that should give her more leverage and reduce the stretch?

I would look at seating position before even considering modifying the pedals

The forces involved on pedals are extremely high and it's very difficult to install a pendant pedal and get the same control as an original floor-hinged version
