When setting off from stationary, if i put my foot to the floor the car still sets off at a slow speed, then, after a couple of seconds it accelerates how it should do. just wanted to know if this is normal?

It sounds like you are experiencing turbo lag, this is normal. The turbo is driven by exhaust gases which have to reach a certain speed before really driving the turbo & producing extra power. Also make sure you have the gearbox in "s" mode, else you will be pulling away in second gear & not first.

thanks Type39, thats reassuring, but now you come to mention it eric242340, yes it does lack power in general when cold for a couple of minutes. Is this normal?

It could be stuck in W mode, what rpm does it change up at when foot flat to board but not on kickdown switch (if you know what i mean)?

i have a c250td with manual box & that does it too... i've found its not so bad since i blocked off the egr valve. i'm currently looking at tuning boxes but can't make my mind up which 1 to buy.
