Hi All,

I have a '97 E230 that is in need of a little TLC.

I have just replaced the rear disks and pads and checked the front pads and disks (which are fine) however I still have the ABS and ETS lights displaying on the dash.

I have plugged some diagnostic kit into the car and it is identifying the brake pedal switch as being problematic, however I am assuming that this is OK since the brake lights work fine, or is there another switch down there that I should be looking at?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Julian

I believe that the switch has two sets of contacts. One for the lights and the other for the ABS etc.
Its a cheap item to replace and is the most common reason for ABS, BAS etc. failure indication.

As brandwooddixon the fact that the brake lights work have nothing to do with the fault. just replace and it should be OK

Hi Guys,

Thanks for that I'll check it out in the morning.

Can you recommend any after market suppliers or is it a case of going via the dealers?

Cheers,

Julian
