Hi,
I am thinking of buying a 97 SLK 230 that I have looked at, but the hardtop will not move. The boot opens, the windows retracts and then nothing. Is this an easy fix? also I have noticed that the carpet under the drivers seat is wet any ideas

Walk away else they would have fixed it before they offered it for sale.

Buy it if you are are a competent DIY, all you need is a diagnostic tool to help you find the faults. The parts doesn't come cheap though.

Hello brian,,there is a well known fault in the roof pump gets water inside, they can somtimes be repaired but it depends on how bad the PCB is,,if the price is right, then it can be fixed.

Please stop telling people to buy a diagnostic test set, it is not the answer to all,,one needs to know what they are looking at
