Still have the engine fault with my e300td, as discussed earlier on this forum, the car takes off by its self at around 60mph. My question is how do i disable the cruise control?
it should work like a normal car. I think its found up under the dashboard, silver with either an orange or black plastic end, two wings to fix it to a member or bulkhead and a 13 pin or so connector. About the size of two packs of cigs long side together. ( that's for w124, which feasibly yours might still be)
When I had a 300TD it had an electronic throttle control. You can see it just inside the bonnet on the right, near the windscreen. If that's the case, the Cruise must be a fully electronic system, working on the engine management system. So most likely would be a fulat with that.
Thats right this E300TD is fly by wire with a potentiometre ( analogue to digital coverter) this has ben replaced. MB have run diagnostics twice but has not flagged a faulty cruse control its only beacuse the brake light switch was faulty causing the asr, abs and cruise control to disengage that i could flaut find the cruise control as being faulty. So how can i turn off the cruise control?
