Problem occurred about an hour ago, driving in traffic. Stopped at lights, tried to accelerate but nothing happened. Took about 5 seconds to get moving but very slowly. Tried peddle kick down and nothing just hit the floor. Engine ticking over at 6k revs, normally about 9k.
When I hit motorway I was able to cruise at 70mph, kick down not working.

Any ideas please

Whats' a MAF? Been looking at older postings.

Chances are if it's failed once it will go again. It should be protected by the air filter anyway. Use the time you have to source a new one at a decent price.

hello
its your maf sensor. had a similar problem. it will start by doing the non response thing slowly then just get worse. if you lucky its sorted but some times its not that easy or cheap. if you do replace it make sure you get the Bosch type these cars are picky if you get some imitation the car just gets worse.
