Hello all, heard a ticking noise from my engine this morning, had a look and saw that the rubber insert in the crankshaft pulley had partially popped out and the cooling fan had started hitting it at idle. I was going to pull the whole rubber out but I thought i would consult you guys first. Can this be done without the pulley falling to pieces?. This looks expensive:(
Thanks in advance
Mike

Done loads of them. Very common.

The worst one had to have the engine removed and the sump and front cover replaced due to it scraping a hole in them.

Get a new pully asap and DON'T drive it!!

Thanks for that, rang my local main dealers, I might as well be asking them for a turnip when I mentioned recall/faulty part. They have none in stock and say it will be at least two weeks before they can supply one. Have to drive home from work with it now and then let it sit there for two flaming weeks.
Thanks

Thanks for that, everthing is slow over here, have recieved Landrover Chassis Crossmembers from the UK quicker that a letter from Dublin. Only the other day I ordered a Propellor from the US on Friday and had it on Wednesday. Saw those posts on the pulley, but I fear I have no chance of a free fit here if none of you guys got it done in the UK.
Thanks
Mike

If it's going to take them 2 weeks to get another pulley it might be worth a look at getting one from a UK dealer.

Certainly would Chris, anyone know a dealer with a good service that would post to my neck of the woods?
Thanks

Yes I'd recommend them. Fast service, although I don't think that their standard postage covers non-UK addresses. Worth giving them a call though I would think.
