A 160 Ignition Switch tight

Can anyone advise if they have experienced difficulty with an a160 ignition switch. The key can be easily inserted into the barrel, but is excessively difficult to turn into the start and run position, so much so that the key case, has split............I have tried graphite powder down the barrel but this was only a very slight improvement...........Can anyone advise please.
