A Class 140 instrument cluster display faulty

I have recently purchased an 04 A Class 140 and the display on the instrument cluster that displays the time and trip meter etc is barely visible. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the fault is?

Theres a bulb which lights this area up, you need to pull the dash out to replace, will take 10 mins, and welcome to the site!!
