Just had my 2005 A Class A170 Petrol Serviced by non MB Dealer. The display shows Service D exceeded by 100 days. (The car has only done 8000 Miles from new. This is the second service.) The Garage has the Autodata book and describes how to reset the service interval, but it must be for older models and as described elsewhere in this forum ie.
Reset Assist on A class
"Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock and immediately press
button 000.0 twice within the space of one second.
Turn the key to position 0 in the ignition lock.
Press and hold button 000.0 Turn the key to position 2 in the
ignition lock. Keep button 000.0 pressed.
Service message with current remaining distance or remaining time
appears.
After about 10 seconds, an acoustic signal will sound and the service
display with the new starting distance or starting time appears for
about 10 seconds.
Release button 000.0"
This procedure done NOT work.
Does anyone know any new proceudre to reset the Interval Message, which is a spanner on a LCD display?
Thanks
Bob.
PS. Read a post by DAVA who said new models use a different procedure and that DAVA would put this post up. Appreciate it if you would DAVA or anyone else. Thank you.
