Hi all, Im new to this forum so Pleeeaaase go easy on me!!
Im a new A class owner (1998 Avantgarde Manual) and have 2 issues I wondered any of you could help me out with.
First one is my Sliding Sunroof (Lamella) doesnt work. I can hear the motor working ok but nothing is happening. I used the manual winder but nothing happens, just turns. Im hoping you Techs can help me :)

and secondly my washer motor doesnt work for the front or rear screen, the Button on the center dash doesnt do anything, not even a noise - is this a common fault??

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks guys!!

We had a 2000 model A class with the louvred roof a good 6 years ago - it leaked, and Merc Manchester said no problem, we'll replace it (under used car warranty). A good £1000+ from memory.
I did ask at the time what they'd do if it was OUT of warranty.
They'd replace it!
But I'm sure an indie has figured out how to take the thing to bits by now.

you have to remove the head liner and all the grab handles, the whole roof then comes out as one unit, not a easy job!!

Hello, Just saw yourmessage about the Lamella Sunroofs. I have an a class and a couple of days ago when I was driving I couldn't close my sunroof. The slats go back fine, runners and fine, motor is working, but deflector flap wont go down. My local garage managed to close it using a screwdriver and pushing on the hinges, however it isn't in the same position flat as before as it is leaking at the sides. He has also disconnected it from the board in the interior lighting section, so I didn't get tempted to keep touching it. Is there anyway I can at least stop it leaking or doing anythign else manually or with a hex key, as unfortunately I am selling it soon so dont want to spend lots of money on it?
