What is the most likely cause of the ABS light on the dash staying on ofter the engine has started? All other functions including the brakes seem to be fine.
Many thanks

if the car is started but not moved the most common fault would be a cable from a wheel sensor, normally front are the most common. If the lamp comes on when the car moves it could be a wheel sensor.
There is the ECU, but these hardly ever fail, same goes for the pump
Any garage can read the fault code for this.

Many thanks for taking time to reply. It turned out to be an aging battery which was giving a voltage drop to below 10v which trips the ABS light. Once the car had been run it could be restarted and the light went out. £35 for a new battery solved it all. Many thanks.

The OVP has the same effect and you will know when it goes as the 12volt in drops to 7.5 volt coming out, giving the same effect
