Hi All,

Not for me (heaven forbid, dropping down to an A after an ML!!!), but I need to fit an Audio 30 APS into an A-Class, 2 year old A140 jobbie!! Its currently got a Sony fitted, no doubt bodged in by the dealer.

What Im after knowing, is there any special adapter/wiring loom needed and is the speed signal present on this year of car?

Thanx in advance.

Thanx Malcolm, thats the worrying part sorted, just a matter of finding out if a wiring loom adapter is needed or if the existing one will suffice. Didnt manage to take out the Sony at the weekend to take a peek, because I lacked the extraction keys, so just want to try and get everything sorted before I go and do the job in a couple of weeks.

If it still has the original ISO plug on the back, it's a straight swap.
Make sure that the speed sensor wire has not been cut. Is should be on pin 1 on the power connector plug. The other plug should have 8 wires for the speakers.
I fitted an APS 30 to my A160 only to find out that the idiot that fitted the radio before (Pioneer) had cut the speed sensor wire for some obscure reason.
Luckilly it was easilly reconnected with a bit of solder.
I located the GPS aerial on a metal beam on top of the glove box. Very good reception and no need to run the cable anywhere.
