A-Class centre console/gear surround removal?

hi someone at my work has her keys stuck in the center console space (with the sliding cover) the key has got jammed and no matter what i try to slide in there it will not come out, is it easy to remove the surround to get into that pocket area?

its a 2008 aclass.. thanks!

Yes.

Carefully remove the chrome ring surround around the gear lever. It prises up and off. Next pull with some force the rear of the whole section, just where the nice aluminium or wood trim ends. This should be pulled up on both sides. The whole thing then lifts up and out. There are no screws holding any of it.

Alfie - Cheers :) FIgure id let you/anyone else who may be interested that the above instructions are perfect..

The 1st silver trim bit was really tight, almost didnt want to pull it any harder, but with persistance it frees then like you said start from the rear(nearist handbrake) of where the silver trim starts, again some gentel force required, and it all comes off.

Co-incidently I removed my own trim in the A class today to install the new piano black trims to match the Designo trim.
