Hi can someone help. I have signs of creamy oil in the plastic filler neck in my A140. The car runs fine with no problems what so ever. I am worried that it has a head gasket problem. However I am told that becuase the filler neck is plastic and somewhat protruded from the engine this is a common thing on the A class and has no faults? Can someone confirm if this is true?

If the car is running fine & you are not topping up any fluids up, don't worry. The plastic tube is always cooler than the engine itself & is also partially cooled due to its position at the front of the engine. This produces condensation in the tube especially if the car is used for short-ish trips. The water then makes the oil sludgy but only in the tube itself.
