Hi all, I have just been quoted £393.98 MB Reading to have the fuel filter replaced on a 2006 A 150. Why so expensive?

I have just bought a fuel filter for my C Class and it was very expensive (I think I paid about £80 with trade discount). £300 on top to fit it seems way way over the top to me. I would have said £175 max. Perhaps MB are pricing for new hoses etc etc as well as just the filter

New hoses, and a tank of fuel i'd hope. That sounds ridiculous. I've lost touch of prices for petrol fuel filters, infact i've never actually bought one but a diesel one is about £18, from merc, why the massive difference. It's a 30 minute job at the most on a diesel, what's different?

you have to remove underpanels on the a class to access the filter, still very steep though, take it to a good indie and get a quote before doing anything,
