A class gear knob removal

Do they just unscrew?

I do not have a definite answer but on most models there is a collet at the bottom of the knob and just a half turn anti clock releases the knob and it pulls off, if the is a gator around the knob, then this is usually prised up and pull up over the knob, you can then get to the collet.
