My wife has an 05 new shape (I don't know the build/model number, sorry) A180. We're really pleased with it except for an annoying creak/squeak that comes from the rear suspension / brakes every time you enter or exit the car. It sound like an old rusty bed spring. Don't ask how I know this.

I thinks its the brake disk / caliper as the noise disappears if the foot brake is applied as well as the handbrake. Every service we have MB say it needs a clean out, and the noise stops for a couple of days before coming back with vengeance.

It goes back in for attempt no.3 next week, but any ideas?

Its the parking brake shoe rubbing on the back plate. It just need some lubrication with brake grease.

Simple!

Thanks for the reply. I'm tempted to get the jack out this weekend end and take a quick look myself!
