A Class Number Plate Light

My 55 plate A class has just failed MOT because number plate light is not working. Have looked at bulbs and fuse box but no luck. Any other suggestions welcome.

water ingrees into the lamp, replace the lamp unit, if no live check the wiring in the rubber boot from the shell to the tail gate!
