I've just bought a pre registered A160 Avatgarde for my wife. It's called an "Autumn" and was a special edition of which MB only made 500 in a special colour called "Canyon".
The car is great but I am concerned about its resale value. The MB contract with Easyjet may lead to oversupply of used A-classes and I see recently the 3 year retained values in What Car magazine have been revised from 45% (not brilliant for a Merc) to an unacceptable 38%......despite my dealers assurances when I bought the car that resale values for the revised A-class would be strong. Resale value was the main reason I went for the Merc brand.
What is your view on resale values and what are Mercedes doing to protect the value of the A-class.
I am already seeing A-classes on the forecourts of non MB franchises: Are these Easy cars I wonder?.
I wrote a comment about it on my dealers customer satisfaction questionnaire but got no reply.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
