New to Mercedes ownership so no idea what servicing costs are etc.
I have an 02 A140 which is due a service in June. The local dealer has given me a reasonable price for this, but today they called to say the service should include spark plug replacement and brake fluid change. I asked the price and was told brake fluid was £53 and plugs were £101...(gasp) no doubt plus VAT (don't you just love garages!!).
I told them I would replace/change myself, now here is the question is there something about the plugs I am missing? Do they really cost this to replace, are they expensive to buy (saw Champion's on internet for £5.00 but not sure if there is a different one I should buy) or are they awkward to replace???
Lastly I would have thought a service would have included a change of plugs...what do they do on a service if they are not replacing the plugs????;)

Plugs are not standard service items as they are long life plugs & are replaced at time or mileage intervals. Buy from dealer & fit them yourself. The coil pack cover is the hardest bit to remove but once off, remove coil pack & replace plugs. Located 3/4 down behind radiator. You will need female torx type sockets, I think E10 & E12 + obviously spark plug socket.
