Hi all

I've had a new combination switch fitted at my local Merc dealer and now the steering wheel is out of alignment. Grrrr. I think it's about one spline but it's enough to make a visible difference. Taking it back to the dealer is about an hour round trip. Is there anything I need to be careful of or a proceedure to follow (air bag, steering angle sensor) if I decide to correct this myself or should I make the journey and take it back? I've done a search and looked in the DIY section and didn't find anything A class specific.

The car is a 2006 W169 A180 Avantgarde.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Disconnect the battery, Remove the two torx bits going into the the rear of the steering wheel, lift of the airbag, disconnect the yellow and green plugs, lay the airbag down facing up, undo the 10mm allen bolt (tight) remove wheel and adjust slowly as the angle sensor has very limit moment, a few mm both ways, refit all and test,

As i said, main points, dont turn the angle sensor more than a couple of mm, and air bag facing up!!

thought that recall was well over by now!!
