Hi everyone, a new member here looking for some advice.

My wife seems to have seen the light and is expressing interest in a used A-Class.

Has anyone had any experiences of the said vehicle be they good or bad? And does anyone know if they are chain driven cams or dreaded belts....??

Apologies if this should've been in a more techical section, as I say, I'm new to all this:D

Hi and welcome to the forum.
How "used" are you talking about?
The latest shape is vastly better (and less troublesome) than the original model.
You'll not be short of advice on this forum....

You would be very welcome to view my 'A' Class site, don't be put off by what you see it doesn't all happen to the same car!

I have had my 'A' Class 2002 model w168 and am still very pleased with the ride and performance.

like all cars it has it problem areas but they can be overcome and with the discounts offered on my site even one the most expencive Mercedes common repairs £1200-1300 NEW ECU/MAFS fitted, can be reduced to just a £250.00 ish and a bit of DIY.

Sorry if I'm hi-jacking the thread but I only want to ask one question about the A Class... What insurence group is it in?

Depends on what engine is has and what specification it is MOD.

The A-Class is the only Merc some insurance companies will insure under 25's on!

A140 is gonna be dirt cheap I would imagine...

The new shape ones are about 6 grand from what I see in my research!

Not bad at all! Anyway, I'm gonna stop hi-jacking the thread now!
