Hi All

I always keep a copy of the latest (or very nearly the latest) Highway Code in the door pocket of my car. It's not there for show and I do read it occasionally when I encounter an unfamiliar road marking or sign. I don't know if it's my age but I do seem to be refering to it more often these days. Maybe it's my memory failing or perhaps the number of new road markings and signs is increasing.

I do think there is a tendancy these days to litter road junctions with a variety of signs that contribute little to road safety, slow traffic flow and can actually be distracting, or worse, misleading. For example fitting cameras that trigger at 50mph along a road that is signposted as having a 60mph limit.

An electronic incar 'sign lookup' device might be useful

REGARDS
